Batman Cremation Urn

Hidden within his secret identity of Bruce Wayne; billionaire industrialist and notorious playboy, the superhero protector of Gotham Metropolis, a man dressed like a bat, who fights in opposition to evil and moves terror into the hearts of criminals everywhere.

He is, The man, The  bat, The Batman.

Created by writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane for DC Comics, Batman debuted in Detective Comics in May 1939.

“And thus is born, this weird avenger of the dark…. an avenger of evil, the Batman”

Fuelled by the loss of his parents at age 10, Bruce became rebellious and reckless and was sent to Arkham boys home for a spell by Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce’s tireless and loyal butler. After this Bruce vowed to spend his life warring on crime.

At age 19 he trained in Tibet with Shaolin Monks in the art of Martial Arts and sword fighting, then learning stealth by an unnamed master in Japan, returning to Gotham 7 years later at the age of 25, now highly skilled in many areas, he becomes the vigilante known as Batman and is ready to wage a war on crime in Gotham.

Batman’s success grew in popularity leading to the introduction in 1940 of his sidekick Robin, the boy wonder. Together they were challenged by many villains, starting with the crown prince of crime, The Joker, and the very sultry Catwoman, followed by The Scarecrow, Penguin and Riddler to name a few.

Batman has evolved over the years to include many films, including spin off movies, including The Joker and Birds of Prey.
