Byron Bay Lighthouse Cremation Urn
Cape Byron Lighthouse
Located in the picturesque northern NSW coastal town of Byron Bay on Australia’s most Eastern point, is the historic landmark known as Cape Byron Lighthouse. Built-in 1901 and standing at 22 metres tall, it attracts over 5,000 visitors a year due to its amazing vantage point, making it the most favoured and visited lighthouse in Australia.
Upon entering this iconic building, you’ll find the words inscribed in Latin above the door “ Olim periculum nunc salus”, translated it reads, “Once a danger now safe.”
Being Australia’s most powerful lighthouse, it helps steer ships safely away from our treacherous coastline.
Perched 118 metres above sea level, it offers inescapable 360-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Byron Bay and it’s surrounding areas. It is the idyllic spot to be one of the first in Australia to see the sunrise or perhaps spot a whale or two.
Cape Byron headland, where the lighthouse is situated, is radiated by it’s brilliant light out over its picture-perfect beaches, dramatic sea cliffs and beautiful lush green fauna. It’s not hard to see why it’s such a popular tourist destination.
