Cotton Crop Coffin
The ideal backdrop for growing cotton is long flat paddocks, warm dry climate with ample of sunshine and temperatures between 18 and 30 degrees. Requiring a frost-free environment, with a long vegetation period of bright green leaves this organic crop requires watering three times a week to keep the root system damp.
On an average 7 – 8 mega litres per hectare is required to maintain a quality crop. At harvest time the paddocks have the appearance of white candy /cotton wool attached to dry sticks. When harvested a sight to behold is the amount of round cotton bales, positioned all around the paddocks.
Having received its fair share of adversity over previous years, cotton
is the staple clothing product used all around the world.
