Planning a Burial Service
Unless your loved one has left specific instructions, choosing between burial and cremation is often not an easy decision.
If you’re considering a burial, there are many venues and cemeteries to choose from.
Traditionally, a dual service provides the opportunity for the participation of family and friends. If a religious service is planned, then the obvious option would be in a church of choice, followed by a cortège to the selected gravesite in the chosen cemetery.
If a secular service is planned, the possibilities are diverse. A dual service can commence at a funeral home chapel, concluding at the gravesite or venue within the cemetery grounds.
Whichever service is selected, traditional approaches are not always taken. Sometimes families prefer simple alternatives, such as holding a small graveside service.
